*Smiles* I'll do my best...*waves and starts out towards the cottage. Though it seems to be quite near it takes her almost 15 minutes to reach a small hedge in front of the cottages. Lies down to take a careful look at the house. It seems to be just an ordinary countyside cottage. Despite the cold and the deep snow she decides to take a walk around the building. Nothing unusal can be found. Turns and heads back. Sighs as she reaches the front again.*Well, seems I have no choice.* Stands up and approaches the front door. Knocks. *Hello? *An old man opens the door.* Er...Good evening, sir...

Good evening young lady *a very old man stands before her. He is knarled and twisted, like an ancient tree with pale watery eyes and a weatherbeaten face. He looks rather taken aback to see her. Looks past her at the other two riders, squinting his eyes to see through the snow.* Three maidens indeed! *He has a look of disbelief on his face* What possible reason could you have for travelling in such trecherous conditions? Without waiting for an answer he turns and walks, rather unsteadily, back inside.* Come inside at once. You must be in need of a hot brew. I'll put the kettle on.
* From outside you can see a roaring fire, the centrepiece of a modest but cosy home. An old dog is stretched out contentedly in front of it.

*Still on her guard, standing outside, carefull not to step on the doorstep or touch anything. * Sir, thank you for your kind offer. May I ask who you are? I've never noticed this cottage before and I know this land very well...

*Returns to the doorstep* Well my dear, if you know this land well you will know that you are nearly in Archet and you have strayed off the main road from Bree. An easy mistake to make in heavy snow. *turns to see her reaction and laughs* Don't worry. I'm a friend of Butterbars. I'd heard talk that riders where gathering at the Prancing Pony. Not many folk pass this way in winter, when I saw the three of you I guessed you'd come from Bree. *Goes back inside again* Now come inside your letting all the cold air in!

*Begins to lose patience with the group* There is no reason why he would mention me is there? *Looks to Firebird, annoyed* Butterbar is well known in this land and must have a hundred friends! If you must know my name is Aramir. I'm originally from Osgiliath. I fought for Gondor many years ago under Denethor. As reward for my services I was given this cottage and I am now gamekeeper for this land as age prevents me from fighting these days. *Has a sad look in his eyes as if remembering glorious days of old.*
Now then! *snaps back to the present* It's not unknown for folk to perish in weather like this. Are you girls coming in or not?

I think we're in more danger if we stand out in this freezing weather for much longer. *Shivers uncontrollably* Look, there are now four of us *smiles at Gwen* surely we can defend ourselves against one old man if we need to?

*Shrugs and turns to the old man once again.* If you are a warrior of Gondor you sure will understand my caution. Anyway, thank you very much for your hospitality. * Carefully steps over the doorstep without touching it, right foot first.*
