*Leads Asfaloth out onto the cobbled yard and mounts, thanking the inn's grooms for their care. The three riders clatter through the streets of Bree which is deserted at this hour. The horses breath is frozen in clouds, on the air. They reach the gates of Bree and are let out by the gatekeeper, who bids them a safe journey. The sky overhead is dark and brooding, but for now the snow has stopped.*

*continues along side the others, glancing around at the quiet town. the air is very moist, and the odd water droplet splatters down on someone's nose occasionally. speaks in little more than a whisper, feeling awkward because of the lack of noise.* forgive me for asking, but i still don't know where we are headed...

*Has left a message with the innkeeper before leaving to guide other rangers to Rivendell. Has told Butterbur to pass the message only to those who know the ranger password... Gives Firebird a quick briefing and ends with saying* So we decided to ride to Rivendell first. Maybe we find more warriors there who want to join us. Even if not, we can rest there and get fresh supplies.

*Rides alongside her companions as they journey along deserted roads. The trees either side of them are wreathed in mist and it is eerily quiet.* I've never known it so cold! *Places her hands underneath Asfaloth's mane to keep them warm.*

*rides level with arwen, then leans out and hands her a blanket from her pack.* here, it might help you keep warm. *rides on at a brisk pace, wanting to reach their destination as soon as possible. they've ridden quite far now, and it is nearing midday, though the sun isn't really making itself known at present.*

Thankyou Firebird *Wraps the blanket around herself then rides after Firebird and Rhiannon to catch up* Where are we?

Athough we started early, we didn't make much distance riding in deep snow. I doubt we will reach Weathertop tonight.

*Continue to ride through the afternoon. For a brief moment a watery sun appears in the sky but it is quickly engulfed in storm clouds.* It looks like we may have more snow yet! *Has to shout to the others, her hair blowing in her face, as a chill wind is gusting through the exposed land they now ride across.*

As the light starts to fade, so the weather worsens. The wind has picked up considerably and flurries of snow are appearing more frequently. The going is tough on the horses as they trudge on through the deep snow. It is unlikely that you will reach Weathertop before nightfall. In the distance there is a light, coming from a small, stone cottage, nestled in the woods. At the window, a figure, possibly an old man appears, his hands cupped over his eyes so he can see out into the gloomy night.

*Sees the light as the wind tears a gap in the almost solid walls of falling snow.* Hey, look!

*Brings her horse to a halt, trying to get a better look at the small cottage. Tries to push her hair out of her face with her frozen fingers.*
Should we stop and ask for shelter?

Strange enough...I think I know the area really well...I've never seen this cottage before. *grins* Reminds me of Eriol and Mar Vanva TyaliƩva somehow...

I don't know...all I'm saying is that it's strange. We should definately be careful.* Looks at her companions, shivering as herself.* On the other hand, if we don't find some sort of shelter for tonight, we'll going to be in trouble. *Sighs* Allright, I'll take a look. *Jumps down and immediately is stuck in the snow. Gets her rope and ties it around her waist. Hands the other end to Arwen.*Tie it to your saddle please. So I can either come back or you can follow me. If I pull two times, I'm in trouble. If I pull three times, you can come.
