"Alas! I doubt that I could find rest in this situation," Éowyn says as she feeds the fire with another stick. "After the Rohirrim soldier came back and ran of with Imrel to seek the King, it seems to me as if things just get worse. Yet hope remains, doesn't it?"

*Sighs* It would be good if hope lasts until we reach Helm's Deep. There are too many terrified people here. I don't know what happens if we're really attacked on our way. Panic can be as dangerous as an army of Uruk Hai

*King Theoden hears Rhiannons words and nods in agreement. He addresses the people before him silencing their uneasy mumblings with the raising of his hand.*
We make for Helms Deep at first light, as originally planned. If we push on then we should stay ahead of Sarumans army. We can not fight such a sizable army on open ground. Our only hope is to get to helms deep in time. Sarumans arm will have grown long indeed if he thinks he can reach us there.

The soilder looked at Theoden his king, a noble man he would gladly die for but it was folly to trust the strength of the old fortress to be cornered like orcs in a hole and wait for Saruman to find them, who out of them, he surveyed the crowd of women and children had seen the might of Sarumans army. He greatly feared that they would not get there in time the Uruk-hai would not rest under sun or moon. Yet there was still hope for was it not said the the hornburg will not fall while there are men to defend it?

Éowyn hears her Lord's words and glances around at the fellow Rohirrim around her. They seemed to agree, just the way she did. Yet Éowyn seemed to wonder whether or not her King's people would be able to keep a pace fast enough to avoid the Uruk-Hai until safety was reached...

It was a long, uneasy night of troubled sleep for those lucky enough to manage a few hours. Many did not, frightened by the Rohirrim's words, too anxious to rest, the thought of an imminent attack formost in their minds. Every snapping twig, every strange rustle from the woods had them reaching for their sword hilts and it was with a mixture of relief and forboding that they watched the dawn break on the horizon, signalling the start of a new day. There was a sense of urgency in the camp as everyone busied themselves for the days travelling, eager to be on the move again. The weariness and despair of the previous day had been replaced by a gritty determination and wilfulness. No one was going down without a fight. The sun was just appearing over the horizon as King Theoden mounted his horse and lead the way forward. Leading his people on towards Helms Deep.

The soilder had a long night unable to sleep despite his weariness he sat up all night sharpening his sword thinking of his commander Erkenbrand and the others left behind at the fords wondering if they had been slain or worse. Finialy though it seemed that many ages of the world had passed the dawn had come, though it brought him no joy a storm was coming from the east. He saddled his horse and stroked it's proud face lovingly. It was going to be a long day. He rode up to the front of the column to be nearer to the king.

They were moving. He got up from the ground, where he'd been leaning against a tree all night, and shook off the leaves that clung to his body. Quickly but carefully, he made his way back to where his horse was tethered and untied the beast, whispering softly in its ear.
"Barad-dûr, Flyn. Fast and unnoticable as you can."
He lifted his bow, arrows and pike off the horse's back and tied a note hastily-scrawled in Black Speech to the saddle. The Orcs would know what to do with it. With a light pat, he sends the horse cantering through the woods.

*Elessar sat back in his saddle admiring the view as they crossed a ridge of hills. They had covered a lot of ground that morning and he felt his spirits rise at the prospect that they would reach Helms Deep before nightfall. He was looking forward to a good meal, hot bath and a change of clothes. He was listening to the conversation between two soldiers behind him and it brought an amused smile to his lips. They were arguing over some trivial matter. Both believeing they were right and neither backing down.
Suddenly he reined in his horse and raised his hand to silence the soldiers behind. He thought he had heard something.. He listened intently, everyone around him listening for something as well. Then he heard it again. A low rumbling sound, that shook the ground. It sounded like horses, bearing down on them at speed and it set his pulse racing. He spurred his horse forward to the highest peak and scanned the land below. A black mass was moving towards them.*

*Feels her horse suddendly getting nervous. Looks ahead to see why they stopped. Before word is passed along the treck, she feels the vibrations in the earth. Despite being eager to know what's ahead, she keeps her position.*
