Éowyn is carrying the baby once more, seeing no wargs nearby with her own eyes; which are now barely open since she was rather tired.
Just over that hill and three more hours then we'll be there, she thinks to herself...

*Theoden rides on at the front. The whole party has fallen into silence, many mourning their dead. He pushes his tired horse on, urging it to quicken it's pace, knowing that they must reach Helms Deep before nightfall.*

Éowyn turns around in Helm's Deep, to see her Lord and his followers coming in from the battle.
"So few," she breathes, "So few of you have returned!"
She glances around, making her way to the group. "Lord Aragorn, where is he?" she asks, not seeing him anywhere.

*Imrel limps to Eowyn's side, her face stiff with dried tears of exhaustion and cold.*
Try not to fret, it'll do no good... I'm sure Master Elessar will come out of this all right.
*Looks around to see the last of the walking party make their way into the fortress, a general atmosphere of relief around them, disturbed only by concern by the danger behind and before them.*
I hope they can at least rest in peace for a bit... So many children have collapsed from fatigue...

"And our food ratios are running on minimal. We have to help the young ones somehow." Éowyn says, knowing that Elessar was capable of taking care of himself while the children were the ones who were in true need of help...

aulus as last would not leave the dead as king theoden had decided, aulus his religion demanded a propper burial for the soldiers, after a days work all the soldiers were buried and aulus stood on the edge of the field. "may you all find peace my brothers in arms." he bowed his head and moved on, on his way he found a young boy seemingly lost crying sitting by a tree. "hello there boy, arent you part of the company." the little boy nodded his head and said [glow=red,2,300]"i fell asleep and i gues i just fell down, and when i woke up everyone was gone"[/glow] aulus looked at him and thought he will never make it walking alone. "ill come whit you to helmsdeep, perhaps we are still infront of the wave's of war that will soon come." the boy nodded hapily and aulus picked him up whit ease and put him on his shoulder and started walking. "whats ur name kid?" the boy answerd 'dracis' aulus responded "just dracis?" he said 'yea' aulus grined and kept on walking towards helms deep.

(Have we reached H/D yet?)
*Looks to the soldier, then back to Eowyn... Everyone seems so grave, so sad. She wonders if there is a single optimistic face in the crowd of Rohirrim. Her gaze wandering to the party ahead of them, she spies yet another worried face.*
*A woman in her mid thirties, silver blond hair darkened with dust and sweat, comes hurrying back to them, tripping over the hem of her skirt and clearly in distress. Speaks through ragged, heavy breathing.*
I heard... I heard you had found a child, Lady Eowyn-
*Her eyes fall upon the baby in Eowyn's arms, and her gaze sinks sorrowfully.*
I suppose I was mistaken, I am sorry to have disturbed you...
*Bites her lip.*
Another lost child?
*Nods, trying and failing to blink back tears.*
My son, Dracis... He's so young, I can't bare to think how frightened he'd be...
*Looks up, eyes blurred and tears spilling over.*
He was with my husband, but he and I were separated from one another...

Éowyn holds back a stingingly painful tear as she holds the young baby closely.
"Alas! Dracis I have not found... But I shall look for him with you," she says gravely. "Separation is difficult here and we must try to stick together for as long as we can. Follow me, perhaps he could be asleep with the other children."

moving towards helms deep aulus used the forests he knew to well. under way he asked dracis "were you alone when you fled rohan?" the boy looked sad and said holding back tears 'my father was whit my and my mother got away, my dad defended me against a huge warg, i dont remember mutch after that....' aulus asked "what did he look like" the boy responded 'brown hair tall and blue eyes' aulus thought for a moment but coudent remember if he had burried anyone looking like that. "i hope for your father that he got away safely until then well go to helms deep and see if your mothers there. he nodded sadly and aulus saw the last part of the journey a large hill almost mountain like, he stopped and put dracis down. "well stop here and after that were almost at helms deep, there's a good chance we can make it the enemy is not yet here." dracis started getting a bit hapyer because he was close to his mother now. 'will we be there soon sir?' aulus grined and said "im no sir dracis call me aulus im no more then you we are all equals and one day you may defend your country and family's honor" the boy nodded and asked again 'will be there soon aulus' aulus turned to the hill and said over this hill and then its one long way to helms deep and then were there." dracis walked around trying to look over the hill.

(How come now one answers that question... I'm gonna assume we are.)
*Shakes her head and takes the child, a scruffy haired girl of perhaps ten or eleven years, by the hand.*
Why is it so many families have been separated during this journey...
*Sighs, turning to the girl.*
Who are you, who are your parents?
My name is Hallien. My mother died a long time ago, and my father left with the soldiers to battle the Warg Riders. I can't find him.
*Her face is blank, as if she has no feelings about the situation. But her penetrating blue eyes hold some form of understanding, as if she knows she may never see her father again.*

aulus called dracis and put him on his shoulder. "so now its just a long straight road to helms deep." dracis asked him [glow=red,2,300]how long will it take aulus?[/glow] aulus looked at the sun. "well its not realy late yet so i gues well make it before dark." dracis grined hapily and they started to walk to helms deep again, on the way dracis asked aulus a lot of question many of whitch aulus coudent answer. the sun was beginning to go under and aulus could see helms deep already. "where almost there dracis." they kept on walking and soon stood at the gate's of helms deep. "well then dracis, it was nice traveling whit u, lets go find your mother."

*As the sun sinks, most of the Rohirrim, both walking party and soldiers, have gone inside. Only a few remain out in the open, watching the gate for stragglers arriving late, or advancing Orcs. Imrel is seated crosslegged on the ground, with Hamneth dozing on her lap and Hallien curled up beside her. Neither they nor the baby Eowyn found have yet been claimed by parents.
*Gazing blindly at the gate, Imrel only realizes that people are approaching when they actually reach it. Gently tipping Hamneth out of her lap and into Hallien's arms, she gets up and goes to meet them. Smiles when she sees who it is.*
Aulus. I was starting to wonder if you had pulled through the battle alive.
*Her eyes fall on Dracis.*
Who's your young friend here?
