*The three riders enter Rivendell - though the place seems deserted. The only sound of life is the ringing of a bell close by. They lead there horses around to the stables, place them in empty stalls and remove their saddles. It is at this point that an Elf appears from across the courtyard. He introduces himself as Elrohir and welcomes them warmly but seems to be in a hurry.*
You hear the bells? That is the warning bell for The Council of Elrond. A meeting has been called swiftly. *Elrohir begins to walk in the direction that the bells are sounding.* Please, hurry. I'm sure your presence will be most welcome at the Council.
UPDATE Rhiannon, Luthien and Arethusa have reached Rivendell. Firebird and Aragorn should arrive shortly. Angelo is somewhere behind them.
If anyone else wishes to participate in this story now would be a good time to get involved.

*rudigar, carrying aragorn and firebird, trudges on wearily through the snow. firebird hopes desperately that there is shelter at rivendell. at least the storm is not quite as heavy as it was, and rivendell should be dead ahead of them unless they're way off course... nudges rudi edgily and he speeds up a bit, shuddering in the wind.*

*Calls after him* Elrohir! Wait! *He stops in his tracks and turns round* There were more in our party but we became seperated from two at Trollshaws. They have but one horse between them. Could you send scouts to hasten their arrival?

*Nods* That would be a good idea. The blizzard was getting worse.

[color=Blue*Three scouts head out from Rivendell. Their horses are fresh and they cross the Bruinen Ford in no time. Although the snow slows their progress somewhat they manage to find Firebird and Aragorn East of Trollshaws. The group head back to the safety of Rivendell without incident and the two rangers are ushered along to the council.*[/color]

*Whispers*Firebird! I'm so glad you two made it to the safety of Rivendell. I don't know what it's about but I'd guess that we'll be discussing the missing elf king and his army.

*Lord Elrond addresses the council. He is stony-faced. In fact looking around, the group notices the grim expressions of most of the elves gathered there.*
Thankyou all for coming. It is unfortunate that we are gathered here in grave matters. *Pauses and observes the council for a moment.* Word has reached us concerning the Tower Hills. As you are aware Lord Eruesso and a band of his finest men have been missing from Tower Hills, lost in the vale of Angmar. It would appear that last week Emyn Beriad was besieged by a large army of orcs. Having no great warriors to defend itself, the place was laid to ruin, it's citizens slain and the tower ransacked. The seeing stone of Elendil was taken. *Paces up and down slowly a troubled look on his face.*
Now as we already know the Dark Powers already have one of the seven stones which they plundered from Minas Ithil. Now they have two in their grasp and it is unimaginable what terrible power they could wield through the use of these palantirs.
*Stands still and looks out into the faces of the council.*
It would seem to me that this was a planned attack. The Lord of Angmar feared Lord Eruesso's men and would not have dared to attack so formidable an army. But with him out the way the tower was vulnerable and unable to defend itself. This is a cowardly attack indeed...... We must decide on a plan of action.

*Is sitting next to Rhiannon and is relieved to see Firebird and Aragorn safe and well. Listens carefully to Lord Elrond with increasing concern.*
mmm............this sounds quite sinister.
*She stands up in her seat and coughs nervously.*
If I may speak......
*waits for permission*
On our journey from Bree we came across a large army of Uruk-Hai heading in this direction.

*rouses herself from astonishment at lord elrond's news, places a hand to her forehead and mutters to herself.* lor yes, i almost forgot... *rises too.* a fair number, all armed, likely to be freshly dispatched. *takes a step back suddenly and lowers her voice again.* is there a seeing stone here?

*It suddenly dawns on her what Firebird is suggesting.* Oh no! Do you think their trying to get hold of all seven seeing stones? *Her expression changes to one of anger* But they are greatly reknowned treasures and part of the heritage of Middle-earth, not to mention extremely powerful. How dare they take what is not theres! But wait.......there are no seeing stones in Rivendell.

I'm sure it's enough if they suspect there's one here. Hmm, it takes a lot of research and effort to find all of the lost stones... There must be someone high up in the food chain behind this. Could it be that the Elf King and his army came too close to discover something about this search?
