*nods grimly.* let's go, then. *the groups go after the four horses and slow them down. imrel helps sarla mount olne, then gets on rudi, who is still rather agitated. produces a length of rope from her bag and loops it around a third horse's muzzle so she can lead it. *the four of them, on horseback, head to the outskirts of town, where mel and corrin are.*

Pretty soon they see Mel and Corrin. Mel is looking over him, something seems to be wrong. Eowyn sees this and jumps off her horse swiftly due to years of practice.
"Is everything alright?" she asks as she runs over.
Eowyn looks at Mel, then at Imrel, Sarla and Rhia. She hopes everything goes well...

right... *looks at corrin.* wel right now, i don't think it's worth risking him back in the town. sarla, take him on olne and keep to the woods until he's fit enough to help. *the two girls help corrin onto the chestnut mare. sarla hops up behind her father and they head north around bree to chetwood.* alright, so now i suppose we go back for survivors... i reckon we should split up to cover more ground...

"Good luck Corrin and Sarla!" Eowyn calls as she watches Imrel's father and sister head of...
Eowyn now turns to the remaining group: Rhia, Mel and Imrel to see how it's best to split up. "My idea is," she begins, "is for each of us to scout a different direction of the town to pick up help, though going in pairs would perhaps be wiser. If each is to go on their own, then one should go north, another south, a third east and the forth west. That way we'll cover it quickly and all of us should have approximately equal ground for we are about in the middle of the attack area anyhow, only well hidden. However, if we are to go in pairs, one pair may as well go to the north and east while the second pair takes south and west. It's mainly up to you, I haven't been through many orc attacks such as this one..."
Raindew begins to neigh a bit and Eowyn strokes the mare's mane softly to calm her horse down. Fire and houses aflame always made Raindew quite nervous...

"Alright. I'll go out into the area where the stables lie. I shall then proceed to where the farms are and get the villagers out. They will probably be the ones in biggest trouble and shall need help and comfort. Orcs like to raid the helpless, and the rural folks are the ones who first come to my mind." Eowyn says as she takes her small pack and transfers it to her right shoulder.
The shield maiden double-checks for her sword and is happy to note it's still there. Eowyn climbs upon her mare, Raindew and gets ready. However, she does not setoff without coming to an accord with the others...

i'll take the outer streets, then. there may be orcs lurking there, and the people able to flee the town should be passing through. i'll round up as many as i can and meet the two of you back here. *hops up lightly onto rudigar and nudges him back towards town; he trots on nervously.*

"So be it!" Eowyn says as she gallops away on Raindew. "May our paths cross again soon..."
The shield maiden gallops through the town and reaches the outskirts without paying too much attention to the other areas... She stops on the farming area's outskirts and sees a big fire to her right. Wanting to investigate, Eowyn continues riding at top speed.
Soon enough, she comes to a house which is all in flames, not to mention the field around it. Either everyone in it was already burned or perhaps the people evacuated in time. Eowyn secretly kept her fingers crossed that it was the second option. But to make sure, she goes as close to the burning house as she dared; and having some guts she came close enough to spot a small shadow moving around in the distance.
*Now what could that be?* Eowyn thought to herself as she got of Raindew and told her mare to stay calm. The shield maiden then turned her attention to the unknown thing lurking, only to see...

*im rides cautiously down the road. the plae seems devoid of orcs- *forget that. desperately leaps off rudi and pulls him behind a stone garden wall. breathing fast and shallowly, she guides him along the wall, and can't suddenly becomes aware of the shapes up ahead. *the ranger and her horse aproach a boy, white faced with terror, clutching at a squirming bundle, huddled against the rocks. im calls quietly to him.* hey! over here... *the boy stares at her, pertrified.* quiet, they'll hear! *keeping rudi as low to the ground as she can, imrel joins the boy and the toddler, presumably his sister, he is holding. speaks again, almost under her breath, right by his ear.* we'll wait for them to pass, then we'll move. i'm gathering all the survivors here and going to the outskirts. *flinches slightly at the word "survivors", but nods and hugs the baby closer.*

Eowyn looked some more and saw a young girl of around six huddled against the remains of her home which were not burning. The moment the girl saw Eowyn she tried to get away, but Eowyn began to talk to her in a comforting voice.
"Don't worry, little one," she said quietly. "Everything will be alright soon. Come with me. I can help you..."
The girl looked at Eowyn with large green eyes, her view partially blocked by a strand of bushy red hair. After a while, she finally agrees and joins. Eowyn takes out her hand and helps the girl get out. Once the girl is out, Eowyn easily understood the pain which she went through. The girl's clothes were all ripped and partially blackened from the fire. She had a bad cut on her leg as well as a large bruise on her arm.
Having no medicine nearby, Eowyn just took the girl close and gave her a hug, hoping it would help. "My name is Eowyn. This is my mare, Raindew." Eowyn says to the girl, taking her over to the horse.
The girl pauses for a moment before speaking in a barely audible voice. "My name is Callissa. My family got killed by orcs and I'm the only one left..." Callissa begins to cry.
Eowyn takes out her handkerchief and gives it to Callissa. "That's all I have for now, but we should get away from this place as soon as possible. There may be more orcs nearby." She says to the younger girl.
Feeling too weak to speak, Callissa just nods a bit and lets Eowyn put her on Raindew's back. Eowyn then also climbs onto her mare and the two go in search of more people who need help...

*the orcs have finally passed by. imrel notices with a start that the boy's left leg is drenched in blood and askew.* your leg. i think it's broken... i can't feel the pain though... come on, let's get moving. *takes the baby from him and lays her down, then helps the boy onto rudi. picks up the little girl again, who is awake but apparently to confused and scared to make any noises other than an occasional wimper. leads rudi along the empty street.* where's your home? do you have family we could find? *bites back tears.* my home was at... at one of the farmhouses further off... *breathes raggedly.* they burned it, and... the stable... the horses bolted and... mother and father... *trails off, looking terribly emtpy and alone.* i'm sorry. i saw the orcs kill them. i could only save kisna. i had another little sister... i waned to take her too... i couldn't find her! *breaks down into tears.* *sighs.* what's your name? brem. look brem, i need you to be very brave. we may be able to find your sister, but there are other people too, other brothers and sisters and mothers and fathers... we need to find them. all right? *nods mutely.* *looks left sharply as she sees a flurry of movement from the corner of her eye.* hang on. *hands kisna to brem and runs to where a family of four hide anxiously in the doorway. the father is wounded and unconscious, the mother gripping her two sons by the hands.* don't worry, i'm a friend. we're gathering just outside the town, where it should be safe. *the mother, in her night clothes and with straggled black hair, looks up with shining brown eyes.* my husband is not fit to walk. *glances dubiously back at rudi. it's doubtful he can carry both brem and a full grown man.* rudi, here. *rudi trots over. imrel looks to the eldest son, in his early twenties.* will you carry the boy, so your father can ride? *he complied, and they set off again, rudi carrying the father, imrel carrying kisna, the young man carrying brem, and the other boy and his mother walking alongside.*
(ooc: sorry, i like to put in a lot of detail.)
