(Rotfl, Grubs! Yes, she is. She's one of the Mushroomers. ;D)
"I told you to be nice to the orc!" came a squeaky voice from under the table.
"Come out from there, Temmin, you ninny," Fob snapped.
"Rangers have to be on their guard," Imrel explained, replying to Grubby's latter remark, "like orcs." Pushing away her empty tankard with some disappointment, she continued, "I'm not sure it'd be a good idea to eat that little 'un, by the way. It's all sweet things she snacks on, you'd never be able to sleep after processing that much sugar."
Fob, still not much intimidated, now folded her arms and glowered. "I'm touched by your concern for my wellbeing, Firebird..."

Elv watched Im, Grubby, and Fob with a little grin on her face. She was still slowly sipping her cider. She twirled her hair around her finger watching the others with amusement. She giggled while Grubby talked about eating the hobbit. She almost felt sorry for the dear.

yer think?
Grubby tilted her head to one side and considered the hobbit carefully. What was the world coming to that she couldn't even worry a Hobbit? Grubby probably wasn't big enough to be scary.

Still feeling rather fed up, Fob poked her tongue out at them and turned her chair to face away from them, as if that ended the conversation once and for all.
"Aye," said Im. "She's incredibly hyper herself, most of the time, at least. Temmin, dear, you can come out from under the table now..." He obliged so much as to peek over the table top, but looked more ready to scarper than anything. Im shook her head. "I think you've given him a bit of a fright, Grubby."

Grubby looked slightly confused, she reached out to poke fob on the shoulder then thought better of it. She found Fob's turning her back on her slightly unnerving an Orc would have hit her by now or at least tried to. The hobbit didn't look particularly hyper though, just weird and sulky. Grubby turned her attention to Temmin
ah.. still got it then
Grubby examined her nails, with a smug look on her face. It hadn't occurred to her that intimidating the inhabitants of Bree wasn't that much of an achievement. Unable to resist she lent closer to Temmin until they were nose to nose. She grinned evilly showing all her pointy yellow teeth (all well picked clean, she needed something to do all day).
Boo
She said, her voice like oily silk.

This sent Temmin scarpering, which in turn prompted Fob to break down in laughter. "For goodness' sake, Tem!" she chortled once she got her breath back. "Good thing there's none of them Black Riders in here or you'd wet yerself..." Gulping down the last of her drink, she followed her friend.
Im shook her head. "You're awful, Grubby," she chuckled, before adding, "Don't mind Fob, by the way. She's probably the most defiant and/or annoying Halfing in Eriador. I'm sure you've come up against worse, though, eh?"

Grubby shrieked with laughter, it was a long while before she managed to compose her self enough to speak.

"Barry... S'that the one with the bar?" She giggled at the thought. "I swear, all the worst fights are in bars nowadays. There are some travelers come in, if you rum 'em up enough they'll be swinging their swords every whichway."

yeh that's 'im big bloke all stony.
she gestured with her mug spilling cider on the table
well i wouldn't say that, I mean you got people swinging their swords about but if they drunk then they're less likely to hit people unless they're drunk that can be messy..
Grubby dragged her finger through the puddle on the table and sucked it thoughtfully.
ya'know that's a good idea, could do with a good fight how about him looks like he could start something
she pointed at a man sitting in a corner a bit too obviously.
oo how about a hobbit fight that'd be a laugh

Imrel pulled a grimace. "Not if you have to clean it up afterwards, it isn't. And some of them hobbits are pretty mean drunks..."
She glanced casually at the man in the corner Grubby had indicated, who looked as though he had taken offense. "At least he doesn't seem to be armed," she remarked quietly. If it came to a bar fight, she'd much prefer the damage done by fists as opposed to blades.

"Swords, maybe," Imrel conceded sagely, "but anyone can make a fist, so I'd watch your tone of voice if I were you..."

ha bunch of peasants beat me? I'd like to see 'em try!
Grubby regretted saying that as soon as the words had left her mouth. She was not stupid (not all the time at least) peasants they may have been but they were big peasants and they were watching her, some were rolling up their sleeves.
eh.. they wouldn't do me any lasting harm would they? nothing involving flames an' pitchforks at least..
she hissed to Im.

"Well... The torches in the brackets haven't been lit yet, and the pitchfork are out in the stables... Probably a bit too much bother to go and fetch..." Im had half risen out of her chair, but had not made up her mind whether it was to aid her orc friend or just run for the hills.
"Cider goes to the head a bit, dunnit folks?" she commented to the room in general, grinning hopefully.

Oh well that makes it all better then..
She looked at Im who looked a bit skittish. Grubby could not see the current situation ending well. Im's negotiations had failed, most of them were probably looking forward to a bit of Orc bashing any way, they would have heard stories none of 'em nice probably not about her personally.
b******s
Grubby concluded, may as well go down fighting. She leapt at the nearest man knocking him to the ground.
