Elv sipped her cider and watched Im walk to the bar. She turned to Grubby and smiled.
Hey Grubby, well what are your new duties after this promotion?
She ran her hand though her hair to pull it back out of her face.

Grubby turned to Elv

she waved her hand vaguely
well, ya'know this and that.. make sure they look nice when the Pizburs' looking, train 'em pike drill at the moment.. supposed to get the lads up nice and early. I do so enjoy kicking them, but I don't do mornings get snaga to do it go 'im to polish my boots too. 'told him if i couldn't see my face in 'em i'd half his rations
she laughed and put her foot on the table
he did a pretty good job don't you think? Sarge says I'm probably the worst Pizgal he's ever seen, but he says to everyone, a great motivator he is.

Elv laughed at the startled looks on the faces of the others around the room when she threw her foot up on the table, she admired the shine of her boot and nodded.
Not half bad and even better that you didn't have to do it your self.
Taking a drink of her cider she thought of how strange it would be to see Grubby kick any one, the orc had always been at lest some what polite to her.
Grubby, remind me never to fall asleep around you, I wouldn't want to be kicked...
She smiled at the orc, trying to make a small joke out of what she had said.

"Grubby isn't the only one who's on her guard, then," remarked Im as she returned with Grubby's refill of cider. Sitting down, she handed the drink to her. "Give 'em hell, Grubs," she added with a wink.
"You've been a tad quiet about what you've been doing with yourself, Elv. Traveling far and wide has always been in your nature; do you feel like telling us how far you've been since we last convened?"

Elv almost choked on her cider, no one other then WK had ever taken serious interest in her life and where she had been. She toyed with the necklace and smiled at Im.
Well lets see, I ventured back to my home village where I haven't been since I left many many years ago. As well as many places not so nice. I would venture to say there are not many places in all of middle earth I have not been. But in the last year or so I spent a lot of time deep in Mirkwood.
Elv thought back to her travels as of late she thought of her and WK deep in Mirkwood but decided against sharing the fact that she had been with him as she wasn't sure how Im or Grubby would take it. She figured he would appreciate her silence.

Im tilted her head as she surveyed her friend; it seemed to her that the elf was in thought about something. Then again, perhaps that was just the elvish aura... Something kept the Ranger from inquiring further.
"Ah, the Great Greenwood," she sighed, allowing her mind to linger in the silvan realm. "Had I known you were there, I would have thought to seek you out when I passed through. Of course, the woods are deep and I merely skirted the borders, so to say."

Grubby laughed
O I wouldn't kick you .. I 'ave got some sense
She had been in a few fights with elves and had always come off worse, they still figured in some of her darker dreams and of course booting The Witch Kings Elf wouldn't be too good an idea either. She shuddered at the mention of Mirkwood. Grubhosh didn't want to enquire what business would take anyone in there.
did u see any of 'em spiders?
She wrinkled her nose in disgust
did you go any further north than Mirkwood? didn't say meet any Orcs or anything?

Well then Grubby I shall count my self lucky that you have no desire to kick me.
Elv looked at Grubby and nodded.
Well I did indeed see some spiders, they are well... Rather intimidating but not quite as intimidating as the company I was traveling with so I had no real worries I guess... As well as I saw a few Orc's although I must say they were not as keen on speaking to Elf's as you. She smiled at Grubby hoping she wouldn't take any offense to the remark.

Ha! wonder why that was.. it's been a long time since I've heard any news from home my tribe's only lasted this long because they have nothing anyone else wants, no food,no metal.. lots of blue rocks though.
To tell the truth Grubhosh was slightly worried it was quite reassuring to know there'd be somewhere to run to if things went tits up in Mordor. She had a hunch who the elf's' 'company' was to her mind there were few thing more intimidating than spiders, bigger spiders, the Great Eye (not that she'd ever had the pleasure of meeting him) and the Nazgul.
(ooc the spell check wanted to change Nazgul to NaCl lol)

(Lol! Since when is NaCL a word, anyway...)
"Ha! Same reason no one really tries to take over Bree anymore," Imrel chuckled, sloshing the dregs of cider around in the bottom of her glass. "Our rocks are green, though..."
She shifted a little in her chair and settled her gaze on her hands clasped around the tankard. "Life has seemed so much quieter since getting back to the west country, y'know? Things were certainly interesting along the Anduil; and those spiders don't half give you a run for your money, eh? Had you not been in such good company, Elv, you no doubt would've had a lot of exercise put up against that lot..."

Imrel tried to look indignant at Grubby's remark, but the cider had relaxed her face a bit too much for that. "How d'you figure that, Grubs?"

well..
Grubby paused to take a swig of cider and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand
any time i want to go visit the shire say, bring a few of the lads too, make a holiday out of it yeh, they try an' kill us. I mean how much rapin' an' pillagin' can four orcs do? well there might've been a few more than four.. it was a long time ago
she trailed off, scratching her chin thoughtfully. She then started to count on her fingers
probably about forty. but that's not the point it's not like hobbits can't defend themselves they got teeth.. and..an' they.. well you know what they did to what'isname knocked his head clean off. You rangers keep out all the interesting types like trolls, they're funny. I think few trolls'd do the locals good that way they wouldn't be so fat.
She eyed Fob evilly

"Oi!" Fob retorted. "This is hereditary! Anyway, it's only a little pudge..."
"Be nice to the orc, Fob," Temmin told her quietly, a nervous smile on his face.
Imrel smirked. "Yeah, so we're a little overprotective of the territory. It's not like you lot roll out the welcome mat when anyone drops by Mordor. Besides, I always thought we Rangers were pretty interesting folks," she added with only a trace of smugness.

Grubby got to her feet, a little unsteadily (perhaps she'd under estimated how strong that cider was) and wandered over to Fob
only a little?
She laughed and prodded her in the stomach
getting that fat must have taken quite an effort, you'd make a good pie I reckon
She licked her lips, Fob would make a pie of pretty epic proportions, far too much to eat on her own she'd have to salt some of her, or smoke some. Even an increase in rations had not stopped Grubhosh being preoccupied with food. Imrels' voice brought her back to reality.
well I wouldn't know you're about the only ranger that doesn't shoot first, have friendly chats later.
(OOC is Fob a hobbit? just wanted to know how much flour i need )
