Luthien Tinuviel
Luthien was born during the ages of starlight to Thingol, the Sindar grey elf king and Melian the Maia. She grew up in the kingdom of Doriath, founded in the great woodlands of Beleriand. The royal court in the Thousand Caves of Menegroth was a beautiful and prosperous place and one of the most powerful kingdoms in Middle earth. Doriath was protected from evil by elven magic. The girdle of melian was a powerful spell which prevented foes from entering.
Luthien lived a happy life there, walking through the forests and singing to the stars at twilight.
