Correct on the bear thing. Kind of lame, wasn't it?
The answer to your riddle... Is it the ocean?

Humph. J/k Eo, well done.
Basically, yeah. I also would've accepted "water".
I'll be back when I find a diabolically mean and tricky riddle. Until then, the next one is up for anyone who has something to post.

I got these two riddles from a book which I borrowed from the library. Unfortunantly I'll have to return it soon so I'll post both riddles at once. Note: Big "bonus" if you guess which book they are from!
Riddle #1: A maiden's head so deathly still Cold and quiet, yet not ill Her long tressess hang toward the sky Hair that burns when it is dry Food to man and creature's lair Name both her and her hair
Riddle #2: A traveler begins a journey. For the first wee, he is carried south. For the second week, he carries others. In the third week, he flies up into the sky. In the forth week, he falls back down. Who is the traveller?
Hope you guess then. Three wrong guesses (for a certain riddle) and I'll drop by a hint or two.

Riddle #1: Her hair seems to be wood, or trees, or similar, so I'm guessing this has something to do with a forest.
Riddle #2: The total journey takes around a month? My first guess is the moon...
Bonus: Why do I get the feeling this has something to do with Tolkien?

Nope, neither of these are directly related to Tolkien for as far as I know. I've found them in a book written by somebody else who isn't related to him.
Riddle #1: You are kind of close. Keep guessing!
Riddle #2: Nope! Not the moon...

Good on ya Eo, you beat Grubby to it. I'm getting the distinct feeling, however, that my riddles are a bit too easy...

I can't make up very good riddles. I'm better at jokes.
What did the dwarf call the orc in old fahioned elven slippers?

Nope... Keep guessing!
(I can tell you the answer if you want to. Hint: The answer is spelled in an odd yet logical way.)
