*releif is on her face as luthien's here, but concern for the lost sheep is still knawing at her. gets to her feet.* no, eli, not yet. will you two be fine with heather? there's more chance of finding darkie with two of us out there. *crouches down again and pats the sheep on the head.* we'll try and be back in time, alright? *picking up her already drenched cloak, which she had discarded, follows kessa out.*

Quel Marth Firebird (good luck)
* Takes another towel and dries off the other sheep as best she can then gives them more hay. Returns to Heathers pen and settles down in the straw waiting.*
We could be in for a long wait, Eli.

*strains to call over the fierce, wripping wind but fails. She lifts an arm in return, hoping Fire saw and understood. Kessa takes the east side and pulls the hood even tighter. After an hour of two of searching, she hears a small bleat, just barely audible in the gail force winds. Kessa turns to the sound and her heart sinks. She sees a large tree fallen over and the noise came from under it. She rushes towards the tree, shivering from foot to toe and looking paler and paler by the minute. The bleat comes again, weaker. Kessa throws branches aside and sees Darkie's small white eyes looking at her with fear and pain. Though she knew he couldn't hear her, she says all the same, mostly for her own comfort* It's alright, boy. I gotcha... You'll... *a thunderous boom echoes around them and Darkie bleats with horror. Kessa reaches under the tree and takes him by the middle. He struggles but his hind corters (sp?) are stuck. She then stands and looks at the tree. The place where Darkie is stuck seems to be rotting away, it was an old tree. She steps back, places her shoulder facing the tree and runs. She hits the tree with full force and it slides only slightly. She does this again and again, finally the tree crumbles and Darkies practically shrieks as another boom of thunder echoes around them. Kessa reaches under the rumble, careful her pounding shoulder. She yanks Darkie out and he snuggles into her arms. Kessa turns, her shoulder bleeding just a little, and runs for the barn. She sees Fire coming and waves her good arm for her to come in. Kessa takes Darkie into the barn, sets him down and slumps in a heap next to him, pale and as sickly looking as him*

3641...............3642................3643 *She must have dozed off for a while listening to Eli counting. Wakes with a start hearing Heathers distressed cry. Get's up.* This is it Eli! I think Heathers about to give birth!

*Kessa glances at her bleeding shoulder, then darkie, rose, and last Heather. With her good arm, she boosts herself up, seeing darkie is ok, and drags a blanket out to lay beside Heather for the new born(s). She then sits again, closes her eyes, and rests as the others help heather*

*runs in, spluttering. wrenches off her cloak and tosses it aside, stifling a sneeze.* oh, kessa, well done, well done... *sneezes.* uh... *notices her shoulder.* oh, dear, hang on... *grabs her bag off her back, and rumages through it, finally withdrawing a small glass bottle and a roll of bandage. rolls kessa's sleeve up, wipes at the wound with a clean handkerchief, applies the mixture, which stings a little, dresses the wound with a second kerchief and wraps on the bandage.* there, that should hold you for now... *looks at heather and goes a bit paler. glances at darkie too, but he seems fine apart from shock. runs to the barrel and returns with a bucket of water, which she props beside the blanket before crouching by heather. the laboring ewe gives a screeching, painful bleat as a lamb starts to push out.* oh, mercy, this is it!

Are you alright Kessa? You saved Darkies life he would surely have died if it wasn't for you. *She is interrupted by a painful cry from Heather*
I think we should all stand back and give her some space. She doesn't need our help at the moment.
*Watches as the lamb is born. It flops into the straw, yellow and gooey and lies there motionless. Heather turns round and starts licking it.*
It's not breathing..
*She frowns, but waits a while before going over. Picks up the lifeless lamb by its hindlegs and swings it around in circles. Heather looks on anxiously*
Don't worry. I know it looks rough but it's the best way to clear out the lungs. Puts the lamb down in the straw and starts rubbing it vigourously with a towel, trying to get it's circulation going.
It gives a little bleet.*
Yay! ;D ;D ;D Our lamb is okay!
*Steps back and watches Heather clean it as it struggles around in the straw.*
Isn't it adorable!
*Heather suddenly stops cleaning and moves to the back corner of the pen. She lets out another cry.*
Oh my I think there's another one on the way! ;D

why am i not surprised... *grins and pats the gasping heather on the head.* oh, it's all right... good girl, it's all right... *heather bleats painfully again, apparently from contractions.* nothing's coming out yet... this may take a while... *the newborn lamb, seemingly heedless of the situation, flops down on the blanket.*

*smiles weakly and point to the snoozing hotdog in the corner.* what do you call him? hey, for all we know, the flock could be a family, hotdog and heather the parents and rose and darkie siblings. *watches heather anxiously; the ewe is breathing deeply.*

*groans quietly as she tries to move her arm again and is unable to do so. Kessa looks at the new lamb and the to darkie who is snoozing in the corner, as happy as can be, heedless of Kessa* You're more trouble than you're worth, ya know that...? *she mutters and then stands and walks to the new born. She lays another blanket over it and Rose trots over to the side of their pen to bleat jealously. Kessa walks over to her and sits next to her. She grimaces slightly and puts her good arm around Rose* Don't worry, girl. We still love you too.

Here comes the second lamb! *The birth of the second lamb is much quicker and easier, though the lamb itself is much smaller then the first. Heather starts licking it vigourously and then nudges the other lamb to her side. The pair of newborns sit huddled together in the straw.* Now we have to think of more names
