A place to share the songs and verses of the Elves.
I begin with an Elven love song told to me by Siri, an elf-friend.
Meleth Elei Nin
Meleth elei nin, Anim isooon kuil, Lin ilf ikala uf ianor, Im henn iestal uf tinnu, Im faigli rhimp mavilhagr gwaew, Meleth elei nin, Isooon miiil.
Translation:
Love, My Dream
Love, my dream, For the purest life, Your heart is the light of the sun, Your eyes the hope of stars, Your hair flying like the swift wind, Love, my dream, The purest love.

Spring Song
Tuil gliiir mi iethir ef isell. Tuil gliiir mi iloth mi hen lhowk, Tuil gliiir mi ind ef imord, Rinbar ana hon dineth.
Tuil gliiir mi iglawar ef iaur, Tuil gliiir mi ianor ef idana, Tuil gliiir mi imiidh telme fladwen, Rinigalad ana idai.
Spring songs in the mouth of the maiden, Spring songs in the flowers in her hair, Spring songs in the mind of the warrior Returning home to his bride.
Spring songs in the light of the morning, Spring songs in the sun of the day, Spring songs in the dew covered meadows Returning the light to the sky.

Elvish verse
Irima quende, aur quelle, lor oiale.
Isilme andaue auta-belethil!
Tul-lor, Tul-elenillor!
Sil an nin.
Lisse lor coirea, Namarie lor!
Auresse Anduril tul,
Naira, ancalima harya menel.
Lovely elf, sunlight fading, dream everlasting, Moonlight giving divine radiance. Come dream, come from the stars! Shine for me. Sweet dream living, farewell dream. In the morning the Flame of the West comes. Heart of Flame, the great light-giver posesses the sky.

i dont know any songs in elfish yet, but i know some that they sang in the hobit. when i was reading i couldnt help but sing along, and so i post the fun songs below.
Under the mountain dark and tall the king has come unto his hall! his foe is dead, the worm of dread, and ever so his foes shall fall.
the sword is sharp, the spear is long, the arow swift, the gate is strong; the heart is bold that looks on gold; the dwarvs no more shall suffer wrong.
the dwarves of yore made mighty spells, while hammers fell like ringing bells in places deep, where dark things sleep, in hollow halls beneath the fells.
on silver necklaces they strung the light of stars, on crowns they hung the dragon-fire, from twisted wire the melody of harps they wrung.
the mounten thrown once more is freed! o! wandering folk, the summons heed, come hast!come haste! across the waste! the king of friend and kin has need.
now call we over mountens cold, 'come back unto the caverns old!' here at the gates the king awaits, his hands are rich with gems and gold.
the king is come unto his hall under the mounten dark and tall the worm of dread is slain and dead, and ever so our foes shall fall!

Thankyou Melody I enjoyed reading that. If you have any more songs you can 'perform' them in the Hall of Fire, where everyone is gathered around listening.
