Let me see... Definitely better than last year!
This is the first year when I was told the "truth" about Santa Clause and wasn't forced to act like a three year old. That's because I caught my parents in the act last year as well as had some solid evidence years ago (wrapping papers from certain malls, etc.) My brother Éomer still thinks Santa is real so I didn't tell him! But that's as far as I went....
I got:
~The Extended FOTR DVD. ;D Watched it over, loved it. Just like watching a whole new movie. Oh my gosh! ~A Photo Camera. The ones my family has are either so old they were made back in the first age or this high tech digital thing I don't like! ~A Walkman CD Player. Don't have to share with Éomer any longer. All the fights we had... ~A Book Called Wish List Still have to begin reading it... ~A Box of Chocolates. YUMMY! ~Set of Bath Foams, Bath Balls, Soap, etc. ~Washing Foam... (Éomer's idea. Quite genorous, though my bathroom is crammed with things like it cuz I don't use it much!) ~Red Hairbow which looks like Santa's suit. ~A Stuffed Toy which looks like a Frog ~Two Scented Candles ~A Purple Bag
Actually quite a lot of stuff. The only BAD BAD BAD thing was that Éomer got a GameBoy Advance with a TTT game for it. He wasted no time informing me that Éowyn is a loser on it (I'm NOT!) and won't let me try it. Otherwise, I'm happy that I didn't get silk pyjamas like I did last year. They were very, very, foofy and I only wore them once, giving up because they were too uncomfortable. Little do the people who know me realize that I prefer to sleep in soft pj pants and an oversized shirt. LOL!
Merry Christmas everyone!

I got LOTR's books - one on the two towers, one on the making of the two towers and one on the whole trilogy.
A LOTR's calender, a LOTR's mug, the extended dvd with Argonath book ends. A bottle of whisky, a bottle of Archers, a bottle of Baileys.
I did quite well this year ;D

We haven't had a tree for 2 years or more, so you can kinda see how significant Christmas is to my family. So my list is gonna pale compared to you guys'... Actually I only got one present. Coldplay's new CD. But if you total up the amount of money I've spent this week on myself, which came from my parents in the first place, it'd be... I dunno. $40? $50? About there.

blah ok now I know im completely spoilt. I had to laugh, my Aunt was telling me that all she gave my cousin was a ten dollar check, *coughthatllboucne* but she spent almost... 30 on mine, he and I keep score, how childish is that? lol I let a 13 year old bait me into being a brat, but I always win because... she loves me best ^_^ thats really not what Christmas is about but I dont particularly care. Its funny, but outside of listening to my Uncle talk about me going to hell for being a heathen, the Holidays arent spirtiual for me anymore. Midnight Mass in Latin lost its magic appeal when I was 13. And it quit being about Family when I realized the only feelings Ill ever get from them is how inadiquite I am, and let them drive me insane, so then I started thinking tonight, have I really come to the point that honestly its just like anyother day with the unfortunate addition of family and food, two things Im not found of? What a sad and sorry state of affaires. And now that Ive throughly depressed you, Happy New Year!

Clearly lots of LOTR stuff, Witch King! You luckily got to keep got Argonath bookends. I had to turn Anarion over to Éomer and keep Isildur. That wasn't very nice!
Lo, that's one long list. Most of my relatives are no better than the Sackville Baginses so it's tough luck for me with them. Not to mention that I'm the only girl among my cousins, which makes it even more miserable. They then either treat me totally different (why can't I play in the mud during summer too?) or jump over me so much that I run away into the fields and refuse to return until nightfall.
Rusty, don't be worried about it. I bet that there are other holidays which you celebrate and my family doesn't. I'm sure of it!

Well, considering I get hundreds of dollars during Chinese New Year (usually around February), I don't complain... and there's my birthday where I'll usually get one present from the gang and make my parents get all the soundtracks and books I'd been eyeing for the last two weeks. Everything kinda comes in a lump for me. LoL... you guys are lucky. That whole "spirit of giving and sharing" thing is going on... I don't believe my family believes in sharing because we're all selfish and money-minded.

Well, so long as y'all love eachother... Er, ya do, right?
Btw Eo, we've got a similar imbalance of boys and girls in our family aswell. I have only two girl cousins; one has two brothers and the other has five. We survive, though, lol...
Grubs, my eldest younger brother got a Gamecube too. He learned the truth about Santa this year, so when he wrote his Santa letter, he puts that this would be his last one... and asked for a laptop, and mobile phone and a Gamecube. Mum wasn't going to get any of those things cos of the expense, but then she went soft and got the cube and a few games.
I got a neat little pile of presents that hopefully won't clutter up my room more. There's a couple of new tops, art supplies, gift certificate, a few toiletries... My dad's sister's family gave me cosmetics, they always insist on giving me girly things like that. Got some really cool books, though. A JK Rowling biography, a Sharon Creech story, and Mum's brother Mike sent one on the making of the FotR movie.
For the giving part, I'm actually pretty satisfied with what I bought my family, which is kinda a rare occurence. I got Mum a book called "Maya" by Jostein Gaarder, a philosophical author she likes, Dad a printed copy of a Star Trek RP story, Robin a music CD and the little 'uns a soft toy each and a fairy tale book to share.

Girly things? Reminds me of those silk pyjamas from last year. Creepy things, full of silk and flowers.
I got my brother a stuffed rabbit whose feet look like carrots. Mainly because he's always slept with a different rabbit since he was little and I thought that his toy may be getting a little lonely...

My family have a habit of giving presents to each other in the shop they got it from without wrapping paper. So it's kind of hard to tell Christmas presents or birthday presents apart from the rest of the stuff...
Anyway...according to what my tour guide for the trip to Europe, it is advise not to flaunt your cash and stuff around as it will attract pickpockets and robbers. So I am not going to tell. *eli puts her hands protectively over the pockets in her robes and looks around for gollum*

Met any gypsies in Europe? They are the nearest equivalents of Gollum's relatives I can imagine...

I think that's a bit of a stereotype, Eowyn.
Lol Eli, guess that could get kinda confusing. I don't use wrapping paper either, I mostly use colored scarves.
Btw, my mum's parents are coming today, so there will be more exchanging of presents. I got Granny a mulberry scented candle and Grampa a book of lateral type puzzles. (And by the bye, I also got a lateral thinking puzzle book for myself, so there's gonna be a lot more material for the riddle thread!) Oh, and I also painted them a picture of their adorable grandkids. ;D

One year when I was particularly strapped for cash I painted everyone a picture for a present. It went down really well with everyone as they felt more time and effort had gone into their presents then just simply buying something for the sake of it. And it was more personal as well. I always like getting hand made cards from friends. It shows they've put some thought and effort into it. I have some great birthday cards that I've kept which have been made for me.
