[glow=darkgreen,2,300]*fox walks in slowly, very much aware of the emotion in the room; she approaches the prince silently, years under his guidance showing as he remains unaware of her presence; she watches him carefully, only a pair of feet away from him; legolas stands almost tensly, his face inclined toward the ceiling and his eyes closed almost as tightly as his jaw; she frowns at his expression... undoubtedly one of sorrow; taking a last step toward him, she holds her breath, mere inches from the young prince's body; the elf raises her hand and, touching more lightly than any butterfly, drags gentle fingers over legolas' face, his eyes opening slowly only after the elfin had passed the touch over his eyelids; her gaze holds his and smiles sadly, asking in barely above a whisper* what ails you my prince?[/glow]

Legolas opens his eyes, his breath catching at the sight of this beauty before him, her eyes fileld with sorrow and concern. He lets out a soft sigh as her fingers trail down to his chin. The prince takes her hand gently, kissing her knuckle then slowly lowering it to his chest, his eyes never leaving hers.
Fox... His voice goes silent. Suddenly not able to tell her; not able to explain. He sighs again, this time closing his eyes. It ails me that I cannot think. It is amazing, that one creature alone can take my breath and deprive me of my wits. And yet...
The prince falters, groping for the right words. He shakes his head and kisses her hand again in resignation.
It is nothing...

*Legolas enters the halls, pauses and smiles broadly at his company.*
This, Grubby, is the greatest of the halls. Usually used for banquests or large comanies from our fellow Elven brethren from Imlansdirs.
*He leads her to one of the tables, asking the nearest elf for a large meal as soon as was possible. The prince pulls out a chair for her and takes a seat after she has.*
Tell my, then. Where do you travel to that I was most fortunate to be "on your way?"

Grubby stares open mouthed at the vaulted celing high above her.
eh? Oh I was going to visit some people I know near Gundabad. Not a very nice lot really, but I haven't seen them for ages..
she trailed off and went back to admiring the hall.
This Dwarf work?

*He smiles crookedly. Gundabad? She was quite a way from her destination, then.*
If I didn't know any better I'd think you were going the wrong way, dear friend.

*The prince smiles, a blush creeping into his cheeks.*
Did you? Well, in that case I shall make sure your stay was well worth the effort! Please excuse me for a moment.
*He stands and heads toward the kitcehns. He comes back a few moments later with two wine glasses in one hand and a bottle in the other.*
Care for a drink while we wait?

Grubby watched Legolas get up and go to the kitchens. When he was out of sight she sighed and put her head in her hands. What was she doing here, she was probaly the only Orc to see the inside of this hall. She looked up to see Legolas coming back with a bottle and any doubts she had evaporated. He was nice and it wasn't often anyone was nice to her. When Legolas offered her a drink she didn't hersertate to answer.
'course
She watched him fill up a glass and pass it to her. As she reached for it her hand brushed his. She smiled sheepishly and raised her glass
Cheers

*The elf smiles and their glasses come together with a small "clink" and they drink. A few elves approach the table with platters. They look alarmed at first but, if anyone thought it strange to see an orc dining in the king's hall with the prince, they remained silent. They weren't about to question their prince.
Legolas nods gratefully as they take their leave and removes the cover from the food. An array of fruits and breads surround a platter of meat. The food is light but plentiful and the prince motions toward the dish.*
Please, help yourself. And if there is anything more I can get you do not hesitate to ask.

Grubby watched the other elves warily, more worried about them than they are of her. She smiled at Legolas before helping herself to the food. Not so keen on fruit she took some meat and bread, thankfully a it was lot different to the grey rock-bread that she was used to. This you didn't have to soak in water for half an hour before you could eat it.
mmm it's good
She grins and tries to eat daintily, well as daintly as you can with large fangs.

*He smiles broadly with a nod of gratitude.*
The finest breads in Middle Earth if I do say so myself. And the meat should be quite tender.
*Taking a bit of bread and fruit for himself, he notices Grubby's efforts to eat carefully. He smiles a bit dorkily and takes a big bite out of his bread, grinning at her through puffed cheeks.*

she nods, picking up another sort of bread it was whitish and smelled like it had honey in it. Instead of just ripping a chunk off it with her teeth she put it down and carefuly sliced it up. She notices Legolas looking, and grinning at her.
what i thought you elfs were into.. er
she scratched her head groping for the term for eating nicley and not picking your nose and wiping it on the table cloth,
table manners?
she looked at the knife she was still holding and turned it over in her hands. It was blunt . She frowned
why do you need so many diferent knives just for eating with?

*Legolas smiles to himself. Apparently she didn't get the message that she didn't have to eat all properly and such if she didn't want to. He swallows his bread and a bit of wine then pushes his own silverware away.*
We don't.

Grubby laughed. She wondered why they needed so many knives maybe they liked knives, she did. she watched Legolas curiously.

*He smiles broadly and leans closer, pretending to whisper.*
Niether do I, to tell you the truth.
*Still smiling, the prince refills Grubby's wine glass.*
Would you care for more? Or perhaps some dessert?
