There is no discussion on the rightful claim. *Shakes his head in disbelief* The palantir belongs to Fornost. You have in effect stolen it from us. And I would very much like to travel with you to Rivendell for Lord Elrond is a fair and just Elf and Rivendell is a welcoming place and I have recieved great hospitality there in the past. But I am concerned about my father. I fear he may be injured and I need to get back to the Weather hills as soon as possible.

no offense meant sir, but this arguement may go on longer than you can afford. rivendell's right here, and elrond as a third party could surely settle the dispute.

well the palintar is a magical and mystical thing, y dont we blindfold someone minor, and hand him the stone, then let the stone lead him to its deserved owners. spinning the man around ofcorse and swiching our positions around so the man does not lead with his mind but with the palintar's heart.

*clears throat*You may be who you say you are but I doubt your army could hold off the Urak-Hia and the Nazgul if they learn you have the stone and try to take it.

they'd just have to watch their backs then, wouldn't they? *considers what mel suggested.* could that really work, mel? i know the stone's magical, but control over chance...

*Thinks about what Aragorn said*
That is very true my friend. I had planned on returning across country, staying off the roads and sticking to the woods, but even so it would be a risky journey. If I can get back to Amon sul there are more of my men waiting there and many of your Elf soldiers also. I understand that your first thoughts were to get the palantir to safety, but you have left behind many of Elronds men. Some of whom are injured and in need of help.

So lets ride on to get the palantir to Rivendell's safety and to send out a rescue group...

So be it........ I do not wish to fight you for it. It seems I have no choice but to accompany you to Rivendell and speak to Lord Elrond myself.

*Araphor enters the quarters of Lord Elrond, lead by a few members of the party. Elrond looks up, a look of pleasant surprise on his face.*
Araphor. I did not expect to see you in Rivendell. What news from Amon Sul?
The palantir has been saved from the Enemy but the watchtower was destroyed, razed to the ground. Several of my men were killed and some of yours I'm afraid. However I cannot give exact numbers as I left when I saw some of your men fleeing with the palantir.
Towers can be replaced, the palantirs cannot, at least that is safe. Where is it?
One of your men has it. I do not know which. They would not give it back to me and insisted on bringing me here first. *scowls at the others.*
*Lord Elrond addresses the others*
It would seem your intervention saved the day. *smiles* Who carries the palantir?

For tonight you shall leave it in the safety of my quarters. Then tomorrow it can be returned to Fornost if that is your wish Araphor.
