*Imrel stares at the dramatic scene in the common room. The heated conflict swelling so rapidly between the Witch King and Legolas rivals even the incessant friction with Grubhosh and Aulus, and has caused many customers to scuttle into the corners, retreat into the back rooms or flee the inn altogether. Buttebur and Fob, she notices, are cowering behind the bar. Im stares angrily at the door left swinging by the Witch King's fierce departure.
*Don't get involved, don't get involved, don't get involved...
*Ignoring the voice in her head, heart pounding thunderously from the sheer injustice of it all, the Ranger slams down the tray she's holding on the nearest table, rips off her apron, and marches straight after them.
*For the love of Eru, don't get involved!
Witch King!
*Finds herself yelling after him.*
What in Middle Earth do you think you're doing?
*That's it, I just give up...*

Gritting his teeth, the elf sprints after the Witch King, anger pulsing in his being as he slips by Imrel and out the door. He finds the two and stands in front of WK, bow drawn a second time, more as an act of stubborn defiance than a threat.
Witch King, relese her now. You've no right to take her against her will.

Legolas! Come back. You're making it only worse for her!

He hears Rhiannon's call, but stands firmly in the way of Witch King and Grubby, set on setting things straight. "Why is he doing this...?" The elf prince reminds WK of his previous vow.
I will not allow you to do this, Witch King. Not as long as I have strength to prevent it.

I have every right! She is mine to do with what I will!
*He roared the words, furious at the elf's insistence to intervene. He drew his morgul blade and pressed it to the Orcs throat.*
Now I suggest you back off prince of Mirkwood... You cannot harm me... Your arrows are useless against me...
But I can slash this orcs throat in an instant. And don't think I won't - she might have been a courageous fighter but orcs are numerous in numbers and easily despensible and I grow increasing tired of this situation.
*He pressed the blade a little harder against her throat, making her choke, still maintaining his iron grip on her.*
You see Legolas, we are not like your kind. We see compassion as a weakness. Orcs were created for a sole purpose - as a tool of warfare. They do not have rights or priviliges or even freedom. They are no more then killing machines, made to kill men and elves. Orcs are creatures of habit, they live by a set routine. Those who show signs of independent thought are quickly....dealt with.
Grubhosh will be returned to her quarters, her punishment will not be too severe. This matter does not concern you
*He glared at Legolas before turning on the others*
Or any of you for that matter!

aulus heard the whitch kings words and silently agreed, orcs were war machines of sauron and belonged to him but not wanting to fight he just looked at the whole scene.

Grubby hissed recoiling from the Witch Kings blade trembling with a mix of fear and hatred. She didn't want to die here like this. It seemed such a waste to have fought for every single day and to die a pointless death, but that was an orcs lot. If she didn't die today it would be the next day or the day after that. Given her current position she concluded that it would be best for her to keep quiet.

*Has followed the others outside* Legolas, please. He's her superior. Would you interfere if King Thranduil gives an elf warrior an order? See? So please calm down.

He frowns inwardly; he wouldn't, couldn't do anything that would cause Grubby harm. He turns only to glare at Rhiannon in desperation, his voice soft but strained.
There is no such injustice in Mirkwood.
The prince turns back to Witch King, his eyes narrowed but lowers his bow. He stands defiantly still, but, reluctantly, stands aside. Water drips from his clothes and golden hair, the sight of a resigned elf almost unbearable to the company. Legolas keeps his eyes on the Witch King, so that he may not miss a single emotion or a single unspoken vow in them.

*He sheathes his blade, nonchalantly, nodding to Legolas as he passes, a slow, smug smile spreading across his face. He drags the orc behind him down the road, feeling strangely empty and bitter. His victory a hollow one.*

*Shakes her head* Legolas, we don't know what happened exactly. But above all, you can't expect that everything is done the elves' way everywhere. I'd think that a less polite approach shouldn't come as a suprise when the Witch King deals with orcs..... I don't approve the incident but I don't think that it was worth risking yours and Grubby's life.

*Turns around to them, on the verge of tears almost, but in the rain it's hard to notice.*
Rhia, for Eru's sake, it isn't fair! Why can't Grubby have friends? I mean, so many of the other orcs have no social lives and no interests in one; she can't be happy making do in that atmosphere!
*Wheels back around, shouting over the rain in the direction the Witch King and Grubby disappeared in.*
He's just threatened, knowing she has a life outside of Mordor! You can't accept independance, can you Witch King?
*Backs up a few paces, shaking in anger.*

*Rolls her eyes* The Witch King never said she couldn't have friends. She fell asleep and missed some duty, her boss got angry and we saw this handled Mordor style. Now I don't think that this is worth risking a blood bath with Grubby the first one to be killed.

Fine, but I still get the feeling this goes beyond a late arrival...
*Tramples through the mud back into the Pony.*

from behind the window aulus had been observing the whole situation he laughed a cold and empty laugh. "pathetic orc." he then sat back down and grined looking into the darkness.
